The app has three tabs, because there are three ways you normally arrive at a device: with it in your hand, with a part number on a screen, or with a company name in a contract.
Read the barcode
Point the camera at the UDI carrier on the packaging. The app parses the GS1 application identifiers, pulls out the Device Identifier and looks it up straight away.

Combine criteria to cut a broad result set down to the record you actually need — then read the registered name, class, nomenclature, status and responsible operator.
